Job Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of Rohlig’s Diamond, Platinum accounts, ensuring client satisfaction, support of our Sales Strategy and maintaining acceptable levels of service through coordination of operational requirements, by enforcing the standards set and agreed on between Rohlig Account Management and Customers. This position is meant to improve the effectiveness and compliance of the Rohlig Operations Teams by being the link between the Branch Level and the KAM-Structure. The Traffic Controller will do everything necessary to maintain and improve the customer experience for our Top-Accounts.

Responsible for main tasks:

  • Visibility of all inbound/outbound, domestic and international freight traffic (i.e., truckload, LTL, intermodal, ocean and airfreight) for responsible accounts, evaluating rates and routes.
  • Host internal reviews and works with business unit management to optimize transportation and logistics services, specific to customer requirements COPs.
  • Creates & Implements COP’s per customer and monitors compliance.
  • Preparation of Quotes & One-Off Quotes in CargoWise.
  • Monitor timely payments with accounting.
  • Responsible internal & external reporting requirements as well as data quality control.
  • QBR preparation and general meeting preparation.
  • Accountable for meeting & exceeding customer KPI’s aligned with internal KPI’s, quality and year-over-year internal freight savings.
  • Ensures that all customer difficulties, concerns or problems involving freight are timely investigated and properly resolved.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices including the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods.
  • CRM Maintenance: Communications, Pipeline and Sales Lead creation.
  • MS Teams Channel Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in obtaining critical information from customers
  • Support with RFI’s & RFQ’s and coordination with local Tender Management.
  • Communicate relevant information to the Global Network & Agent Network.
  • Share & request status updates with Country Management (MD & VP Level).

Requires Skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong track record in Customer Satisfaction and Customer Facing Communication
  • Excellent Operational Knowledge in International Freight Forwarding Air & Ocean, (Minimum 5 Years)
  • Good Network of Logistics Vendors both on the Local and National Level
  • Strong ability to quote independent, fast and correct on a highly competitive and accurate rate level for all Transport Modes
  • Knowledge of Quote Platforms like Catapult, GT Nexus etc.
  • Strong logistical, analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Willingness to work flexible or extended hours when required to resolve freight-related emergencies
  • Willingness to travel (if needed)
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work with teams and remote direct reports
  • Advanced CW 1 experience
