About The Role:

This role falls under our premiu m brand, KEVIN.MURPHY MID -ATLANTIC, and we are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Store Associate / Key Holder to join our KEVIN.MURPHY MID -ATLANTIC team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the beauty industry, thrive in a fast-paced retail setting, and enjoy building relationships with salon professionals. As a Key Holder, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring daily operations run smoothly, maintaining excellent customer service, and supporting store leadership with opening/closing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Experience & Sales

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing expert product knowledge, recommendations, and personalized solutions for professional salon clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with salon owners, stylists, and other beauty professionals to support their business success.
  • Drive sales by actively promoting current promotions, product education, and new brand launches.Maintain a welcoming and organized store environment that reflects our brand standards.

Operations & Merchandising

  • Execute daily store operations including cash handling, inventory restocking, point-of-sale transactions, and visual merchandising.
  • Maintain product displays, stock levels, and cleanliness to ensure a professional, shoppable environment.
  • Receive and unpack deliveries, ensuring accurate inventory counts and product placement.

Leadership Support (Key Holder Duties)

  • Open and close the store following established procedures, ensuring all security and operational protocols are followed.
  • Serve as the acting supervisor in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Support team members with guidance, problem-solving, and escalation of customer concerns as needed.
  • Assist with training new associates and reinforcing company policies and procedures.

Product Knowledge & Education

  • Stay current on product lines, ingredients, usage, and brand values to better educate customers and drive sales.
  • Attend in-store education sessions and brand training to continuously build product expertise.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year retail experience
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional, approachable demeanor.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and handle responsibilities with integrity.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, inventory procedures, and store operations.
  • Interest or background in haircare, skincare, or the professional salon industry is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; cosmetology license a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and stand for extended periods.

Capability to bend, reach, and climb ladders to restock shelves or merchandise displays.
