Are you passionate about safety and have a knack for intricate systems? If so, we are seeking a dedicated Permanent Sprinkler & Fire Alarm Inspector to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. This role is instrumental in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and clients. As an inspector, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of sprinkler and fire alarm systems. You will play a crucial role in fire life safety by ensuring that all systems meet the standards set by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Sprinkler & Fire Alarm Inspector, your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting routine inspections and maintenance of sprinkler and fire alarm systems to ensure they are in good working condition and compliant with safety standards.
2. Identifying potential issues or malfunctions in the systems and taking immediate corrective action.
3. Interpreting and applying codes, standards, and regulations related to fire life safety systems.
4. Preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining accurate records of all activities.
5. Collaborating with other team members to ensure a comprehensive approach to fire life safety.
6. Providing technical guidance and training to less experienced staff.
7. Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in the field.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Sprinkler & Fire Alarm Inspector role should possess:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in inspecting, testing, and maintaining sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
2. Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in Fire Protection Engineering Technology – Fire Alarm Systems.
3. Thorough knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and codes.
4. Proven ability to interpret and apply regulations and standards related to fire life safety systems.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and rectify potential issues in sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing detailed reports and interacting with team members.
7. A commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements and best practices in the field.
