About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Administrator to support their expanding payroll operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities

• Administer full-cycle, in-house payroll for 1,000+ employees
• Handle multi-state payroll processing , including compliance with CA, AZ, and CO regulations
• Process garnishments , manage time and attendance systems, and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
• Leverage timekeeping systems such as Kronos or eTime for accurate payroll tracking
• Support payroll reporting and analytics using Advanced Excel tools (e.g., Pivot Tables)
• Partner with internal departments on payroll-related matters and support year-end reporting
• Utilize systems such as JD Edwards (JDE) Oracle or similar ERP platforms

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience , including high-volume and multi-state environments
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and best practices
• Experience with garnishment processing and journal entries
• Proficiency in Excel and payroll/timekeeping systems (Kronos, JD Edwards, etc.)
• Exposure to union or construction payroll a plus (not required)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred , but not required
• Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
