Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Project Manager for a contract-to-hire role. In this role, you will lead and manage IT initiatives at a retail energy company. You will guide cross-functional teams through Agile processes, aligning project delivery with business goals and ensuring high-quality outcomes are achieved on time and within scope.

You’ll collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, product owners, and key stakeholders to ensure project success from planning through execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery:

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with stakeholders.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Track progress and proactively communicate status, risks, and issues to relevant parties.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to drive team performance and project momentum.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

• Work with product owners and business analysts to manage and prioritize the product backlog.
• Identify and resolve project roadblocks or escalate as needed to maintain progress.
• Coordinate with other Agile teams to manage cross-functional dependencies.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and support.

Industry Expertise:

• Develop a working knowledge of the retail energy market.
• Understand the impact of regulatory requirements on energy operations and project delivery.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing IT projects, especially those focused on software development or backend systems.
• At least 3 years working within Agile frameworks.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in the retail energy industry.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise-level projects.
• Familiarity with database systems and APIs.
