Job Description

This position is responsible for managing and developing a team of financial analysts. The Manager – Retail FP&A leads at team that develops comprehensive financial plans related to retail. This leader must work cross functionally across Wakefern and directly with the Membership. This position will be required to make presentations. In depth knowledge of P&Ls, cash flows, and balance sheets of Wakefern retail stores is necessary.

Essential Functions

The core functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analyzing P&Ls, cash flows, and balance sheets for retail stores, chains, and real estate
  • Working closely with the Membership and Wakefern leadership on financial analysis and projections
  • Developing comprehensive financial plans
  • Administer and interpret Wakefern’s programs and rules
  • Planning schedules, budget development, and project management are critical skills for this associate.
  • Leading and developing a team of financial analysts
  • Continuous improvement of Wakefern’s financial processes

Minimum requirements of the position:

  • Four year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or relevant field
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with financial statements, gross profit analysis, budgeting, forecasting, working with FP&A tools
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build relationships with Members and across divisions to collaborate and find answers to important questions.
  • Expertise Excel and PowerPoint

Additional experience considered a plus for this posting:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in relevant field
  • CPA
  • Knowledge of retail operations, real estate, pricing, merchandising, and Wakefern’s competitors
  • 2 years of successfully leading associates

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Availability to work a varied, flexible schedule to meet business demands
  • Ability to monitor computer screens for long periods of time
  • Ability to participate in retail store visits
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule as established by the division (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
