GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

1. Responsible for maintenance and repair of industrial facility at Zenith. This position will include all troubleshooting and repairs, mechanical and electrical. Consults management regarding issues encountered. Understands and performs daily job duties in a manner which supports the Company / Department SAFETY – QUALITY – PRODUCTION goals and objectives.

MAJOR TASKS – RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic and routine facilities maintenance tasks
• Proficient in mig welding
• Observe OSHA regulations
• Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.
• Must be capable of facility repairs and fabrications
• Perform work on miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, moving furniture or materials within and without the facility.
• Work with the Maintenance department on all machine /equipment issues
• Ability to perform electrical tests, read results & diagnose & repair electrical problems
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned
• Any assignment as directed per management within the scope of personal capabilities

INDIRECT TASKS

• Perform housekeeping
• Help with other facility repairs and fabrications
• Teach, instruct, and otherwise educate concerning facility
• Support new product / project planning and implementation within the department & facility
• Assist others as needed

PERSONNEL CHARACTERISTICS

• Familiarity with hand tools
• Familiarity with various power tools
• Demonstrated ability to write legibly, to maintain records, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Available to work overtime, including weekends and vacation coverages
• Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing.
• 3-5 years of general maintenance work experience
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
• Understanding of basic computer programs.
• Comfortable with heights, using scissors and Genie boom lifts
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Physically capable to assist with the moving and handling of tooling components & equipment
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Works according to priorities set by the Facilities Manager and / or Shift Supervisor
• Complies with the regulations and guidelines of conduct in place at Zenith;
• Meets the requirements of safety, hygiene and quality of Zenith;
