Job Description

POSITION:  Communications Director

POSITION TYPE:  Full-Time

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Senior Pastor

JOB SUMMARY: The Communications Director is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications to effectively share the vision, mission, and message of the church. This role includes managing the church's website, social media presence, bulletin, e-communication, and other communication platforms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Plan, organize, and execute communications strategy
  • Oversee outward messaging for churchwide initiatives
  • Manage announcements and assist with event-related communications.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders to advertise, promote, and engage community on church mission and events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date event/communications calendar
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling marketing materials and displays
  • Manage components of the marketing/communications budget and ensure events/communications are executed within budget
  • Identify new opportunities to increase brand awareness of CFMC
  • Create and maintain brand adherence for marketing collateral in online, print, and promotional materials
  • Develop and design graphics, print materials, and social media content
  • Oversee digital and print literature to ensure all collateral is updated and in compliance, including but not limited to church bulletins, signage, and web content.
  • Capture church events via photography or videography and perform necessary edits
  • Track and report out online engagement
  • Support other tactical marketing tasks to contribute to the overall success of the church

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: 

  • A strong, active Christian faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Proven experience in communications planning and execution
  • Experience in graphic design using tools such as Adobe Photoshop or equivalents
  • Experience in photo/video editing
  • Experience in managing websites and/or social media platforms, with a preference towards using advanced planning tools such as Canva, Hootsuite, Sprout Social or equivalent tools
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute events effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze data and measure event performance to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong understanding of branding and marketing principles and knowledge of industry trends

WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE: 

  • Full-time with ability to travel occasionally; some work required on weekends
