Job Description

As the Business Development Specialist for Alumination Architectural Products, you will be instrumental in driving growth by forging strategic partnerships with architectural, general contractor, and subcontractor firms. Your efforts will directly contribute to increasing brand awareness, product specification, and achieving ambitious company sales targets

Responsibilities:  

  • Track and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, using data to inform strategic decisions
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and other influencers in the building industry
  • Proactively influence product specifications by delivering compelling presentations and conducting one-on-one meetings with specifiers, highlighting the unique benefits of Alumination Architectural Products and aligning them with project needs
  • Provide technical support, answer questions, and assist with product selections and design consulting
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop sales pipelines, and close deals. 
  • Monitor project specifications, track leads, and ensure specifications align with company goals
  • Develop and deliver presentations, seminars, and training programs to educate the architectural and design community
  • Work with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and engineering, to ensure alignment and support for sales efforts
  • Maintain and update customer records and project information in the company's CRM system
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities and adapt sales strategies
  • Prepare and submit submittals, samples, and technical documentation to support product specifications

Attributes/Skills:

  • 2+ years of proven experience in architectural product sales
  • Successful track record managing strategic account relationships with architects, general contractors and specialty subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals and secure long-term contracts
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop and deliver polished presentations
  • Proven track record planning and managing resources

  • Bachelor's degree or three to five years related experience 
  • Some travel required to attend client meetings and conferences as planned

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Proficient reading architectural plan sets, takeoffs, and estimates
  • Competent with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting 
  • Knowledge of the commercial construction industry and established relationships with key trade partners
  • Experience in selling exterior wall cladding products is preferred but not required
